CLASS POLICY
* Your time
is valuable! To get
the most from your time in class, we will start classes promptly at
the schedule time. If you need help selecting materials, please arrive
at least 30 minuets early to do your shopping. (Tools are always
provided for all classes.)
* Most
classes cost $25.00. Occasionally, there is an additional kit fee if
the instructor provides special materials.

Class payment is due at the time of registration. If, for
any reason, we must cancel a class, your payment can either be forwarded
to another class of your choice, or you may receive a full refund. If
you need to cancel your place in class, please do so at least 24
hours in advance. If you cancel your class without 24 hours notice,
50% of your class fee can be used towards another class, however, no
refunds will be given in the event of a "no show" without
notice.

If there is a project you would like to teach, or one you would like
to be taught, please bring it to our attention. We are always interested
in learning new things too!

CLASS DESCRIPTIONS
Basic Classes are held multiple times
throughout each month. Tools for these classes are supplied, as are
some materials. Classes are either skill oriented, like Peyote, project
oriented, like Beaded ornaments, or most often a combination of both.
Most classes cost $25.00 with an occasional kit fee if materials need
special consideration.
Stringing Basic:
This class is for anyone who wants to create professional looking strung
projects. Learn about different stinging materials, findings and the
helpful tools used to design and create beautiful strung jewelry. You
will complete a necklace and bracelet of your own design in this fundamental
level class. You are responsible for supplying you own beads and clasps.
We supply everything else.
Wire Basic:
In this class you will learn how to form the basic wire components in
most jewelry. Using various tools (we supply) you will make jump rings,
split rings, loops, wrapped loops, coils, scrolls and cages. This is
a basic class that offers lots of practice time and the skills to fix
all that jewelry you havent worn because something is broken!
We supply everything needed for this class.
Stone Wrap:
If youre like most of us, you have a special stone you found or
were given, that you would like to wear. In this class you will learn
a variety of techniques to wrap rough or tumbled stones. We supply the
wire and stones for class practice and as always, in store tools are
available.
Peyote Stitch:
Traditional Peyote stitch has endless possibilities of pattern and use.
In this class we learn the basic stitch, how to add thread and end a
piece with a variety of clasps. We also cover how to follow a pattern
and chart our own. We make a bracelet as our project. Students will
be responsible for the materials for this class as they will finish
the project on their own.
Polymer: Beginners Class
Making canes (logs of clay with a pattern running through
their entire length, from which identical slices can be cut
think

can be simple, complex or anything in-between; they also can be pictorial
or simply geometric
the canes and their images can be reduced
so that
the they become quite small, the combined repeatedly to make multiple
images
caning is much-used technique for many clayers.
Polymer: Intermediate & Advanced
Once comfortable with handling and working with polymer clay there are
many, many techniques and projects that can be accomplished. These techniques
include possibly using paints, foils, powders, and other inclusions,
the various types of polymer clays (regular opaque, metallic-mica, translucent,
and liquid).
The remainder of our classes varies from month to
month depending on availability of instructors. They include, but are
not limited to:
Rosary:
String a meaningful, hand-crafted piece for yourself or to give as a
gift. Combine art and meditation in this thoughtful project. Students
are responsible for beads and findings.
Free Form Wire Bending:
Create rings, bracelets, necklaces and even bugs out of
various gauge wires and beads in this class that utilizes wire bending
techniques and your imagination.
Wire Sculpture, Border Wrap:
Learn classic patterns to wrap cabochons and finished stones to be used
as pendants. There is a fee for materials kit.
Byzantine Patterns:
Endless possibilities and patterns made with jump rings. Using various
metals and wire gauges we will make an assortment of chain sections
appropriate for bracelet or necklace projects. Because we are using
a variety of wire materials there is a kit fee for this class.
Wire Crochet: -- Coming in April!
Pearl Knotting:
A classic, learn to knot and finish a luxurious strand of pearls for
a professional look.
Beaded Cabochon:
Using seed beads stitch an elegant collar around a finished cabochon,
add a Peyote Bezel and youre created a stunning pendant. Knowledge
of Peyote stitch is helpful in this class. Students are responsible
for cabochon, seed beads and stringing materials.
Loom Weaving:
Learn to wrap and weave using a simple loom. Follow a pattern to make
a bracelet that will get attention.
Potpourri Bracelet/Necklace:
Show off those wonderful leftover beads in this fun project that has
as many variations as you have beads. Basic stringing and a simple stitch
make this project a hit. A very popular craft show seller!
Bead Embroidery:
A sampler of stitches creates a rich and varied beading project. Cover
a button, a fancy decorative box lid, create an heirloom!
Beading Stitches:
In addition to Peyote, we offer a number of classes that teach beading
stitches including Spiral stitch, Ladder stitch, Right Angle Weave,
Square Stitch, Netted Stitches, etc.
As always, if you dont see a class offered for a project youre
interested in, just ask!
